AMBER GREEN

Dedicated to empowering our country’s future leaders and marginalized groups, Amber has served as a Youth Development Specialist for her local city government, sits on both the Youth Development Advisory Committee and Human Rights Advisory Committee, and founded Fenix Youth Project Inc., a creative arts youth development 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on empowering youth to make social change while using art as a tool.

Amber studied English literature with a concentration in communications at the Historically Black University, The University of Maryland Eastern Shore. It was there she fell in love with digital media storytelling. Her passion for the community proved to be an asset as she took her skills in video production, web design, social media management, and research to enhance her ability to become an advocate for juvenile justice and other social justice issues.

SISTA BIG

Sharnell “Sista Big” Tull is a poet and visual artist raised in Pocomoke City, Md.  As a poet, she has spoken in several different cities, and venues.  Sharnell hosts a monthly open mic in junction with Pocomoke Public Library and is affiliated with the Crisfield Arts and Entertainment District.  She has been showcased as a poet and artist for Salisbury Wicomico Art Council and  was chosen to be a part of the Salisbury University Art Gallery Undercurrent 02 event for 2019 where she delivered her poetry.  She may also be found delivering spoken work on WBYC radio station in Crisfield, Md.

“Sista Big” began writing poetry as a child and cultivated her talents through competitive speaking.  Ever since she was a young girl, Sharnell knew that she was destined to write and speak poetry to and for the masses.  She has the innate ability to pen about any given topic, reciting each line as if most times were her own personal story.  Sista Big has published two books: Live Again: the rebirth (2016) and When April Doesn’t Bloom (2019). Her chapbook When April Doesn’t Bloom featuring Donnie’s Songs was published in 2018. Her first book was a variety of poems which focused on religion and real life issues  while her second served as an inspiration to overcome struggles one may face in life.  Sista Big delivers her in a way that you would have to experience for yourself.  With her rhythmic flow and powerful words, Sista Big is sure to captivate you.
